On the topic of LJ's unfortunate choice of the word "friend" to describe "someone who is interesting"... When I list someone as a friend, it's just a way of saying "For whatever reason, I find this person interesting". If someone else adds me as a friend, I assume that they are saying the same thing. If someone drops me as a friend, I consider it an editorial comment with regard to that person's "friends" page, not a personal slight. Do not agonize over dropping me out of fear of hurting my feelings, and do not feel obligated to add me because I added you.
